The Long Trail is the oldest continuous footpath in the USA. It’s 272 miles follow the ridgeline of the Green Mountains from Massachusetts north to the Canadian border. It was built between 1910 and 1930, is maintained by the Green Mountain Club, and served as inspiration for the Appalachian Trail. The 50 km section we hiked started at Road 15 near Jeffersonville and concluded on Hazen’s Notch Rd 58 east of Montgomery.
